Susan took the USCF to court and they had to defend themselves and the other people she sued. It cost the USCF lots of money and her also. She does a lot to promote chess play but this lawsuit was a very bad action. Calling “U.S. Chess Federation crooks” is uncalled for.
This just show how out of touch Jude has become regarding what Polgar is and has been regarding the USCF and TTU
That’s all fine and good that y’all feel this way, but it would be truly interesting if y’all could provide links to independent sources that would support your claims (Jude goes into great detail here about some of his issues with the USCF). I’ve looked around and have been unable to find anything but message board chatter or dated news accounts. Jude notes that the current USCF president recently wrote that the USCF lost $700K pursuing these lawsuits. It’s clear that investment did nothing to advance the game of chess in the United States.
You would have the USCF just roll over and give Susan millions and not defend themselves. I would not call the money spent on the suit defense an investment.
Exactly, money spent on suit defense is not an investment. It was wasted money–they should’ve done everything in their power to prevent it coming to that. A little dispassion could’ve gone a long way in that regard.
